The AI4Family project aims to enhance the digital competence of parents and caregivers in dealing with Artificial Intelligence (AI). AI is already part of everyday life—through voice assistants like Alexa, navigation systems, or chatbots like ChatGPT. However, many parents feel overwhelmed and lack the necessary knowledge to guide their children in using these technologies responsibly and reflectively.

AI4Family addresses this gap by promoting awareness, education, and the exchange of good practices. Together, the partner organisations will develop a digital, multilingual guide for parents, available in German, English, Greek, and Slovenian. The guide will cover essential topics such as how AI works, ethical implications, risks and opportunities for children, data protection, the impact on child development, and the role of AI in social media.

The main target groups include parents, teachers, social workers, family education centres, and adult education providers. Institutions and businesses interested in developing responsible AI practices will also benefit from the project’s outputs.

Partner organisations from Germany, Slovenia, and Greece contribute their expertise in parental media training, educational settings, and family counselling. The transnational collaboration fosters mutual learning and supports the creation of sustainable educational resources in media literacy.

Project activities will strengthen adult education systems, contribute to the implementation of EU strategies on AI, and promote digital literacy as a key lifelong learning competence.
